Zoviet France: One of the first "ethno-ambient" bands. Based in Sheffield - UK - their work is comprised of electronic treatments of ethnic instrument recordings and performances. Zoviet France (normally written with punctuation marks - such as :zoviet*france: - :zoviet-france: - and :soviet*france:) worked extensively with unique packaging - packaging some CDs in wooden boxes - between asphalt shingles - and inside Hessian sacks.
